The subject of this book is the connection between ethics and cybernetics, using Heinz von Förster as an example. Cybernetics was established as a new science in the middle of the last century. It was originally a technological science that emerged from information theory. The new field of research led from information theory to artificial intelligence and was always characterised by a teleological philosophy. Almost parallel to this, an ethical direction developed, known as second-order cybernetics. Its main proponent was Heinz von Förster. His great philosophical achievement is cybernetic ethics, which is based on the principles of the concept of freedom.
