Our research focuses on a crucial aspect of public health: renal function in the population. Currently, it is recognized that Cystatin C is a more sensitive biomarker than creatinine for the early detection of renal dysfunction. For this reason, we conducted a study in the population between 45 and 49 years old in the city of Jipijapa, Ecuador, with the objective of measuring the prevalence of possible cases of renal damage in early stages. Detecting these cases in a timely manner allows early intervention, preventing the development of more serious renal pathologies and, consequently, reducing the incidence of renal diseases in the community.
