Day Care Laparoscopic Surgery (DCLS) is a Major Laparoscopic Ambulatory Surgery wherein an operated patient recovers after surgery and is fit to go home within 24 hours, DCLS was recently adopted as a safe and viable procedure and is gaining great popularity due to costs reduction and convenience. We did apreliminaryretrospective analytical study covering a three-years period betweenMay 2010 and April 2013in this study were included84 patients, most of them 97,6 % were discharged among 24 hours after the surgical procedure,69 (82%) of them were females and 15 (18%) males for a relation of 4,6/1. The group of ages most frequently affected was the one of 50 years followed for the one from 40 - 50 years, Cholecystectomies was the procedure more frequently performed 78 patients (93%), others were appendectomy, diagnostic laparoscopy, and lyses of adhesions. Conversions were performed in only 2 patients that remained more than 24 hours admitted. Was concluded that laparoscopic surgeryreduces blood loss and pain achieving the patients a fast-intestinal function and normal diet, so an early discharge, recovery and return back to normal activities.
