What have you heard? Did it sound real or is someone having you on? In an era of tabloid trickery, fake news, and wall-to-wall marketing, it can be hard to tell what's gospel and what's just yelling with good acoustics. What have you heard? Did it sound real or is someone having you on? In an era of tabloid trickery, fake news, and wall-to-wall marketing, it can be hard to tell what's gospel and what's just yelling with good acoustics. If you are tired of being lied to, know that you are not the only one. Herein you shall find an honest set of 75 common deceits, fibs and fabrications that you may have already been subjected to, or very soon will be. Either way, after reading C.P. Sharpe's Days of Our Lies, you'll be able see through them, and be forewarned. The lies we tell each other often come all too easily, but sometimes they are also necessary, if only for social survival. This conflict between the honour of honesty but knowing that such candour could ruin your life, means these really are the days of our lies. Presented as a rapid-fire collection of sarky comments and quirky observations, each entry is attractively illustrated and accompanied by a carefully appropriated quotation to match the mood. Includes such heavy hitters as:"It's not you, it's me." "I just need some time to myself." "Due to the economic situation we've had to put pay rises on hold." "This will hurt me more than it does you." "The Earth is flat." "Yes, of course I'll still respect you in the morning." Light-hearted, punky and pithy, C.P. Sharpe's Days of Our Lies will give you reassurance during a quiet moment or provide you with something to share in a louder one. Download today and be able to see it coming tomorrow. (Although the content is certainly not explicit, some of the themes explored do address life experience and are somewhat grown-up in nature - e.g. relationships, alcohol, money, technology, the workplace, mild sexual references - so in that sense, this book is not recommended for minors.)
C.P. Sharpe is a writer, editor, publisher and promoter of his own literary aspirations, which include books, articles, songs, videos, and the website to showcase them all. He is a keen breather of air, a gazer at sunsets, a listener to loud music and a speaker to anyone who'll listen, provided you can hear him over the music. His titles range from the offhand to the earnest, from the ironic to the straight talking, (mostly) distilled from personal experiences good and bad, although he does intend that both his trials and his triumphs should always be expressed through the prism of the positive. (This doesn't always come across, but that is at least what he's aiming for.) CP can be spotted wandering around his website most days, and does occasionally swing by his FB, YT and IG accounts, but not his X one now, because he can't be bothered to keep adding 'formerly Twitter' each time. CP lives in (sometimes sunny) Hampshire in England, UK. He does like it there, but would like to leave more often, if only to enjoy coming back.
