With powerful agencies closing in by the hour, one small mistake can prove fatal. College student Kathryn Benton comes home one night to discover her parents have been brutally murdered. Porch camera video reveals the killer's identities-two neighborhood troublemakers with a taste for crystal meth. Consumed with grief and blinded by vengeance, she tracks them down and kills them. With no thoughts to avoid the obvious consequences, she is quickly arrested and awaits trial-likely facing a death sentence. Seeing an opportunity, a ruthless politician capitalizes on Kathryn's misfortune. She is coerced into killing an innocent man in exchange for her freedom. A man she has been convinced is a terrorist. However, for the politician's plan to succeed, Kathryn must be killed before she can tell the truth. When unexpected circumstances allow Kathryn to escape, she has four days to expose the plot, while evading authorities working hard to capture her. To guarantee success, hired mercenaries are sent to ensure she is DEAD BY MONDAY.
Autorenporträt
CR (Chuck) Foster lives in a small California town with his wife of forty-nine years and has two grown daughters and two grandchildren. He was an engineer in high technology for over forty years before retiring. Chuck started consuming detective novels while his friends were still reading comic books. The quantity of books expanded when the travel requirements of his job increased the hours he spent in the air. It was a natural progression to writing stories of his own. This is Chuck's first novel. He started writing in earnest at the beginning of the quarantine when everyone in the world suddenly had free time. He began because he thought writing a novel was the most nearly impossible task a person could undertake. He was right. He does acknowledge that, while it was hard work, it was fun and hugely rewarding.
