Deadly Trade. Becky Collins was still mourning the loss of her beloved cat, Marty, who had lived to the impressive age of twenty-one. Hoping to ease the emptiness, she adopted two adorable kittens from a rescue centre. One of the kittens shocks Becky by possessing the ability to speak. Becky soon realized there was something very strange about the kitten that called herself Penny. When her other kitten, Cally, was snatched from the backyard, Becky was devastated. She had never felt such a gut-wrenching sense of loss and worry as she did that day, the brazen act leaving her stunned and heartbroken. With Penny's help, she scoured the neighbourhood, until they ended up at a rundown house a few streets away. Inside, the house was eerily silent. Becky was panicked and horrified when she found the body of a woman sprawled lifeless on the floor. Penny recognised the woman as the one who had taken Cally. As the truth was revealed, Becky found herself facing a reality she never imagined existed. And when the real killer emerged, she realised her quiet life would never be the same-forever changed by the kitten who called herself Penny.
Autorenporträt
Anne Rogers is a South Australian multi-genre fiction author, writing science fiction, young adult science fiction/fantasy/magic, and paranormal cozy mystery. She was born in Gloucestershire, England. She now lives in Adelaide, South Australia. Anne started writing when she was 14 years old and still in school and has been writing on and off ever since. The first book she wrote was a young adult cozy-style science fiction/fantasy/magic novel called The Magic Rainbow: Escape to Amorica. Anne sent the manuscript to over a dozen publishers, but the only one who showed any interest was Penguin. "They said if I could get a hardback publisher, they would do a second edition in softback." They didn't do first editions in softback back then. Sadly, Anne never got a hardback publisher. She had to wait until 2008 before she published it as an indie author. The first book Anne published was a novella called Mission 14, a science fiction story, in 2004. The next book was UFO: River Crossing, also science fiction, a novella. Then Anne published two short stories-Renewal, a fantasy, and The Fatal Planet, a science fiction story. Then it was The Magic Rainbow's turn to be published in 2008-46 years after the book was completed. Patience is a virtue. The next book, Magic Rainbow: Race Around the Sun, was published in 2017. Later, Anne published Golden Horse, which is the fictionalised story of one of her horses, Astra, that she bred and competed on in horse trials in England. It also includes the other horses she bred and competed on as well. Anne has also published a book about weight loss and a healthy lifestyle called No More Diets. She has also written and illustrated three children's picture books for three-year-olds and upwards learning to read-Sooty Wooty is a Cat, Prince and the Apple Tree, and Captain Dan and Sailor Sam, all fully illustrated by her in bright, bold colours. Recently Anne started writing a new series of cozy paranormal mysteries called Penny P.I. the first one is called Deadly Trade, Anne has also written book two, Snatched. Anne is always happy to hear from her readers, so feel free to drop her a line. Email: therealannerogers@outlook.com Website www.annerogersbooks.com "Thank you for reading my books."
