Dear Diary, is a collection of poems about navigating life's breaking points and discovering the strength to keep going. Dear Diary, is a collection of poems about navigating life's breaking points and discovering the strength to keep going. Written with raw honesty and vulnerability, these poems trace a journey from childhood innocence, through the weight of grief and silence, and finally toward healing and self-belief. At its heart, this collection is about learning to trust yourself again, about dreaming when reality feels heavy, and finding power in telling your story. For anyone who has ever carried heaviness, questioned their worth, or longed to feel seen. Dear Diary is a reminder that you are not alone, and that believing in yourself is the beginning of everything.
Alana Avellino is a poet, dreamer, and storyteller who writes about identity, resilience, and becoming. Writing has always been her way of making sense of the world- through journaling, poetry, and creating stories that connect with others on a personal level. Dear Diary, is her debut poetry collection, born from years of reflection and the courage to believe in herself. Her poem "Becoming" will be published in the upcoming Kaleidoscopic Quill: A Butterfly Anthology by Wild Ink Publishing in March 2026. Through her work, she hopes to remind readers they are not alone, and that self-belief is the beginning of everything. She lives in Ontario, Canada, where she continues to write, dream, and create.
