This book provides a rationale and model for a program curriculum centered around building mortality salience and self-care strengths through competencies in mindfulness of death practice for social workers working in end-of-life and bereavement care. A review of research is presented on aspects of death anxiety, mortality salience, spiritual end-of-life care, social work strengths-based competencies, and mindfulness practices such as compassion practice and mindfulness of death. The curriculum is provided in the form of curriculum materials made up of instructional graphic slides, media, and content paired with guidelines, instructions, educational tools, and notes for curriculum facilitators
