Quiet and good natured, Sophia Michaels' humble upbringing deep in the Suffolk countryside, shaped a steely determination to encourage others to make a difference. Many people are living in their self-made prisons and don't have to. Her goal is to change that, by word, song, and radio. Her poetry being the platform of thought, mind, and human sensitivities. Sensitivities, of which we all mostly dismiss or deny ourselves, preventing us from moving forward in life without the perception of the consequences of what we should have done. The message? Prepare yourself as best you can, show up, and do what you can. Plant the seeds and something good will eventually come out of your efforts so Sophia says, even if it's not quite the result you expected. As they say, God laughs at our plans, and usually has an even better one. Like most of us, Sophia has faced many setbacks, but each time has picked herself up, brushed herself off, and persevered, something that shines through in her many 'gifts, ' her singing, her art or radio presence, but most of all, her love of poetry.
