Autorenporträt
Cristina Peri Rossi nació en Montevideo, Uruguay, en 1941. Estudió música y biología y se licenció en literatura comparada. Publicó su primer libro de narrativa, Viviendo, en 1963 y se convirtió en una de las escritoras más notables de su generación. En 1972 se instaló en Barcelona y adquirió la nacionalidad española. De entre su obra narrativa cabe mencionar Solitario de amor, Desastres íntimos o La nave de los locos. Lumen ha publicado casi toda su poesía, donde destacan Babel bárbara (premio Ciudad de Barcelona, 1992), Otra vez Eros, Aquella noche, Diáspora, Las musas inquietantes o Estrategias del deseo. En 2021 ganó el Premio Cervantes por «la trayectoria de una de las grandes vocaciones literarias de nuestro tiempo y la envergadura de una escritora capaz de plasmar su talento en una pluralidad de géneros. [...] Su obra es un puente entre Iberoamérica y España y ha de quedar como recordatorio perpetuo del exilio y las tragedias políticas del siglo XX'.
