A converter is a device that can convert direct current to alternating current or vice versa. This research aims to obtain direct and alternating current from the same converter device, which can provide 220 VAC and 12 VDC at the same time using Proteus software modeling; to build a converter based on a typical converter; to compare the performance and efficiency of the converter by software and hardware. The converter was supported by a solar cell that charges the battery. The converter was modeled and developed in Proteus software. Based on the typical converter circuit, the real converter was designed and tested. In addition, the efficiency and performance between software and hardware were tested and compared. The efficiency of the software was 80.7% and the efficiency of the hardware was 70.3%, while the performance of the charger controller was different between software and hardware, knowing that this converter is designed to carry 60 watts. This inverter has been successfully modeled and designed as it can be used in emergency situations such as sudden power outages or used in rugged and remote places.
