M. Bianet Castellanos is an associate professor of American studies at the University of Minnesota. She works with Maya communities in Cancun and Los Angeles. She is the author of A Return to Servitude: Maya Migration and the Tourist Trade in Cancun and co-editor of Comparative Indigeneities of the Americas: Toward a Hemispheric Approach.
