Beim Verfassen dieses Buches habe ich meinen reichen Erfahrungsschatz und mein Wissen aus der jahrelangen Arbeit mit Patienten in der medizinischen Praxis genutzt. Diese habe ich sorgfältig mit dem kombiniert, was ich im Laufe eines Jahrzehnts in der akademischen und wissenschaftlichen Forschung über Durchfall und Infektionskrankheiten bei Kindern gelernt habe.
