Suellen Epps Richardson spent her career in nursing and healthcare administration. She graduated summa cum laude from MCCG School of Nursing, after which she achieved her master's in business administration and doctorate in nursing practice in executive leadership. She developed a heart center service line before the concept was mainstream. Suellen led one of the largest heart centers in Georgia for over thirty years while being active in the formulation of cardiovascular standards nationwide. She also collaborated with Central Georgia Technical College to offer degrees in cardiovascular technology to address workforce issues in Central Georgia. These efforts led to her being named a Georgia Pioneer in Healthcare in 1998 by the Georgia Women's History Committee and Georgia Commission on Women. After her marriage to Rev. Jesse Richardson, she fulfilled the duties of a pastor's wife. Since Jesse's particular focus was church building, they pastored numerous small churches. Suellen performed various duties alongside her husband, from playing the piano, leading choir, and drama ministry to teaching all ages from preschool to adults. One of her key areas of focus was the development of children's ministries in the churches. She and Jesse also participated in statewide small church Sunday school consulting for the Georgia Baptist Convention. From developing patient care plans, creating business plans, and writing curriculum for various church programs and ministries, writing has always been a part of Suellen's life. After Jesse's death in 2020, Suellen's new God-given purpose is to share the gospel through various media forms, beginning with writing and speaking appearances.
