Autorenporträt
Angela Vlachos Ruth grew up in the greater Chicagoland area. She attended Homer Greek School in Oak Lawn and was one of the first Greek American teens who went to Ionian Village summer camp in Greece. These experiences, as well as her family's attachment to the Greek Orthodox Church community, instilled in her a sense of pride of her own Greek Orthodox faith and heritage. Angela wrote her first book, An Evening with Yiayia, after the birth of her first grandchild. Now there are two grandchildren she shares Greek words and poems with. When she isn't writing children's books, Angela lives in the Tampa Bay area with her husband Dan and teaches eighth grade at Carrollwood Day School. Angela is also a proud member of the Daughters of Penelope at St. Stefanos Church in St. Petersburg.
