Many of the Christian Churches in America seem to have lost their directions. They seem to be in lock step, preaching "God Loves You! Go back to sleep." Where is the fervent call to salvation? Where is the rebuking of sin? Where is the reminder that we who are saved will not all enter heaven equally, but we will stand before the judgment seat of Christ to receive our reward, based on what we have done in this life. My background is in science, by college degree and work. I grew up in Oklahoma, and born to Christian parents. After accepting Jesus Christ as my savior at age 11, I left the church at age 17, and stayed away for 25 years. At age 42, an incredible life change brought me back to a dynamic faith in Jesus Christ which caused me to start reading the Bible for hours every day. Morning and evening Bible study. This went on for years without ever missing a morning or evening study time. This dedication to learn the Bible took me completely through many versions of the Bible. First was the Living Bible, followed by the NASB, then the RSV, which I used as as a teaching Bible, then the NIV, and finally the KJV, followed by studies in the Geneva Bible, Mead's Handbook of Denominations, and other Christian books on foundations. I love teaching.
