Autorenporträt
Kate Foster is a Scottish writer and has been a journalist for a national newspaper for over twenty years. Having grown up in Edinburgh, she is fascinated by its history and often uses it as inspiration for her books. The Maid is her first novel and won the Bloody Scotland Crime Debut of the Year award in 2023 and was a finalist for the Women's Prize for Fiction in 2024. She is also the author of The King's Witches and The Mourning Necklace. Kate lives in Edinburgh with her two children.
