Autorenporträt
When Phyllis Mellon was about five years old, her parents let her hold an egg in her hands to watch her first baby chick hatch. They called it "pipping," and because she grew to love caring for their family's hens and chicks, she became known as Pippa. Today Pippa still celebrates all the rites of springtime - and loves writing about Spring and Easter for children. She has little spare time, but when Pippa does find a moment, she enjoys practicing the art of pysanky - intricately decorating Easter eggs in a traditional Ukrainian method using waxes and dyes. (psssst! Pippa Mellon is actually a pen name for the Cottage Door Press team who worked on this book.)
