The Long-winged Doryodes Moth (Doryodes grandipennis) is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, south to Maryland and New York where it is found in the salt marshes of the eastern shore. The larvae feed on salt marsh grass. A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera. Moths form the majority of this order; there are thought to be 150,000 to 250,000 different species of moth (about ten times the number of species of butterfly), with thousands of species yet to be described.
