Mihial "Dean" Ferris, the author of Double-Play, is an immigrant from Lebanon who moved to America at age 7, speaking only Arabic. Quickly assimilating into American culture, Dean became an All-American-Kid, setting aside his Lebanese origins. Embarking on a career in international law, he gained worldly experience by residing in numerous countries. Married and a father to four children, Dean realized the loss of his original identity, prompting him to actively restore it via marriage, education, and language.
