Melissa lives in western Pennsylvania on a farmlette - all the land but none of the livestock, unless you count three dogs, a feral cat who adopted her family, and a husband who feeds her very well. Her first novel, DOUBTING RIVER, combines her love of storytelling with her deep understanding of dogs, drawing from decades of experience in dog training and behavior. Her previous book, CLICK FOR JOY, won the Dog Writers of America's award for "Best Training/Behavior Book" of 2003, establishing her as a respected voice in the dog training community. When not writing or working with her beasties, Melissa can usually be found on her computer lost in yet another story.
