Dr William Anderson's new book is the first in a series of books containing unique Case Histories shedding light on the role of Forensic Pathology in the American Justice system today. Dr. Arthur Lyons Medical Examiner: Volume 1 is a masterfully written work of fiction rooted in the harsh realities of modern forensic pathology. This brilliant collection of case studies is based upon recent legal decisions that have centered around the role of forensic evidence and the potential for injustices when medical science is influenced by the political system. These entertaining and insightful Case Studies look at how our contemporary justice system is influenced by human factors, established legal practices and existing political power structures. Dr. Anderson's status as one of the most respected experts in the field of forensic pathology lends credibility to the four case histories presented.. As you read these intriguing glimpses of how social justice is being enacted in our nation's courtrooms today, you may remember when these case histories were part of the nightly news. The book is a sobering commentary on how fragile justice can be when science is pressured to serve narratives instead of facts. Dr. Lyons, with his unwavering ethics and sharp eye for inconsistencies, serves as a compelling moral compass. Dr. Arthur Lyons Medical Examiner: Volume 1 is both a thrilling page-turner and a critical reminder of the real-life stakes behind every court case decided based upon forensic evidence.
