Paul John Amrod is an accomplished American musician, composer, and poet with a rich and varied career. He began his musical education at the prestigious Juilliard School, where he studied composition and later earned a Master's degree. During his time at Juilliard, he developed a unique style that blends concert music with Afro-American influences¿. Throughout his career, Amrod has been involved in numerous musical projects. He performed with notable acts such as Janis Joplin and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. His eclectic musicianship spans genres including jazz, rock, and classical music. He has also worked as an arranger for A&M Records and a studio pianist for Columbia Records¿. In the 1980s, Amrod moved to Germany, where he continued to perform and teach jazz. He has played extensively throughout Europe and has developed educational programs on the history of jazz piano. His performances often incorporate elements of ragtime, hard bop, and modern jazz improvisation¿ . Amrod's poetry often reflects his deep engagement with music and his critical perspective on contemporary issues.
