Drake Storm, full-blooded member of the mighty Catawba Nation and former Ultra Elite Special Forces Operator is intent on finding his abducted niece. While on a Search and Rescue operation, Drake discovers an ancient travel portal used by Catawba Warriors. Suspecting its use by human traffickers, Drake informs the authorities but is told it is none of his concern, but the possibility of learning information about his niece drives him to start his own investigation and almost costs him his life. Drake gets help from a Cherokee Warrior Spirit who also reveals that his red-haired, grey eyed, freckle faced team member has a long ancestry to Native Americans. To help her discover her heritage, they enlist the services of a local Gullah Root Doctor to perform a conjure which reveals information about her heritage, but also some unexpected information about Drake's abducted niece. This takes Drake on a mission to a nearby West African Village, against the wishes of the Root Doctor, where he falls into the hands of the leader of the human trafficking organization. Drake's rescue brings about the release of the local villagers and the destruction of the vicious trafficking operation. Working with former Special Operations friends, Drake connects with members of the US Space Force and US Federal Marshalls, who track his niece to Florida during the launch of the Excalibur Space Craft, the first of many needed to colonize and build a US military base on the moon. With the creation of the US Space Force, America not only leads the world in space exploration but also in space defense. The U.N. and its allies want the U.S. to fail, and attempt to take control of the US Space Program and gain possession of the moon and its' bounty of resources. Drake, with assistance of Ancient Spirits, a wise old man, a Gullah Root Doctor, and a red-haired Native American stop the attack on the US Space program, ensuring the US wins the space race and keeps the Moon from becoming a hub of Human Trafficking. The one thing our foreign enemies didn't anticipate, was the American Spirit: both living and dead.
After 40 years in business management, GC Moore decided to try something different. Having a BS degree in the Management of Human Resources, and 40 years in business management, the only writing to his credit are technical manuals and quality procedures. Being an avid reader and enjoying several genres, he decided to try his hand at writing. A member of a search and rescue team as a Ground Searcher and K9 Flanker for several years when retirement came knocking, GC found that this new chapter in his life allowed more training time with the team and more availability to respond to activations. New writers are often advised to write what they know, which in GC's case, is search and rescue. "Drake Storm: Path of Spirits" is his debut novel which first began in late 2017. Spending the next few years researching and going through several plot ideas and characters, GC began writing in earnest in 2020. Follow Drake Storm as he searches for his abducted niece and helps stop human trafficking. Drake gets assistance from some unlikely places; a World War II veteran, a root doctor, spirits and a Native American team member sporting red hair and freckles. Read GC's blog posts for several odd occurrences during the 30 months he worked on "Path of Spirits." Some could be considered coincidence. Some will say there are no coincidences. GC lives in the southeast United States with his wife, two children and their families, eight grand dogs (two are search and rescue K9s), two grand cats and an assortment of chickens. His other interests include classic cars, playing bass guitar, gardening, raising chickens and home remodeling projects.
