Autorenporträt
Hailing from the tightly-knit farming community of Chatham, Ontario, Canada, Kevin Moore has always been an individual who dances to the rhythm of his own drumbeat. Fearlessly authentic, he consistently embraces the road less travelled, seizing every opportunity for adventure that life offers. Beyond his insatiable wanderlust, Kevin's interests span a wide spectrum, including a passion for extreme sports, a profound love for music in all its forms, culinary exploration in both cooking and eating and, most importantly, sharing endless stories with those around him. At 24, Kevin ventured from the comforts of his hometown to travel the world. With a camera, a pen, and paper, he spent over fifteen years chasing stunning landscapes and drawing inspiration from the world's most vibrant cultures. As a seasoned backpacker and nature enthusiast, his writing ignited from the journals he filled while exploring hidden trails and bustling cities. With a passion for storytelling, Kevin tried his hand at the written word and found profound success with his debut self-published novel, Dude, Where's My Walking Stick, an adventure memoir about a 1,300km hiking journey across New Zealand. The book was an instant success, winning a Global Book Award for Best Amateur Writer and breaking the top 1000 books on all of Amazon. He was featured in CBC News and Windsor Life Magazine, and was interviewed on CKLW Radio to discuss the success of the novel. The years are catching up, but he is still an avid outdoorsman who loves to get lost in some of the world's most unforgiving landscapes. Kevin recently completed a ten-day solo hike through Kluane National Park in Northern Canada. A hike not for the faint of heart. He is also an amateur nature photographer who was nominated for the Yukon Visual Arts award in 2024. His nature and wildlife prints adorn the walls of homes and offices all across the globe. However, his true passion is storytelling, whether it's over a pint in a bar or through the written word. At 40, Kevin is not slowing down. He currently lives in Manzanillo, Mexico, with his girlfriend and cat. After living in the far north of Canada for over a year, there's some much-needed warmth down south, and soon enough, he'll be able to tell stories in another language.
