Dulcie Carlyon: A Novel Vol. III explores the emotional conflict between love, family, and social expectations. A captain's return from India sparks a passionate struggle when he chooses to marry a woman of lower social standing, defying his aristocratic family. The narrative delves into the clash between personal desires and societal pressures, as the protagonist defies his family s objections and marries the woman he loves, despite her impoverished status. The emotional weight of the story is heightened by the tension between individual pride and the broader expectations of family loyalty.
