Melville Davisson Post was an American author best known for his detective and mystery stories in the early 20th century. Born in 1869 in West Virginia, he was a lawyer by training. Post gained fame with his character Uncle Abner, a moral detective in frontier America. His works blended legal knowledge with sharp storytelling and ethical themes.
