Aija Tuna is a Program Specialist for the International Step by Step Association and an independent consultant through her company Knowledge Creation Lab. She has been actively involved in promoting systemic and purposeful change in education in the post-communist region from the classroom to the national and international level for decades. Jacqueline Hayden, BA, MEd, PhD is Professor of Early Childhood and Social Inclusion at Macquarie University, Australia. She has worked or researched in the field of ECD in diverse contexts and regions, including Africa, North America, Europe, and Australasia. This volume is an initiative of the International Step by Step Association (ISSA). ISSA is an innovative network of early childhood development professionals and organizations primarily in Central Eastern Europe and Central Asia, working to make quality early childhood education accessible to all children.
