This publication of ProMosaik LAPH is the first volume of the book "A New Analysis of Women's Rights from the Perspective of the Holy Quran" and includes four articles on "Proving the Legal, Civil, and Social Equality of Women and Men in the Holy Quran, with a Focus on the Meaning of the Word 'Urf (Custom) in the Quran." The author is the Iranian Engineer Jila Movahed Shariat Panahi (born in 1951) who earned her degree in Physics from Sharif University of Technology in 1973.When she was in Iran, Jila Movahed Shariat Panahi opposed the mandatory enforcement of wearing the headscarf (maghna'eh) for female employees, deeming it contradictory to Quranic teachings. Citing verse 256 of Surah Al-Baqarah ("There is no compulsion in religion"), she argued that religion itself is not compulsory, let alone personal choices such as clothing. This marked her first Islamic-feminist stand.She struggles for social equality of women and men in Islam, with a focus on Quranic versesAfter nearly twodecades of research, in 1999, she published her first book, A New Analysis of Women's Rights from the Perspective of the Holy Quran, in Tehran.Her 2nd book, Influential Women in the First Two Centuries of Islam, was published in 2013 after years of awaiting publication approval. This book complemented her first by showcasing the Prophet Muhammad's respectful treatment of women and the positive impact of Quranic teachings on their personal and societal growth.She has participated in numerous academic conferences and non-governmental initiatives. She has also delivered lectures at universities and women's rights organizations and published various articles on the topic of gender equality in newspapers, journals, and online platforms.Shariat Panahi has run for public office multiple times, including candidacies for the Islamic Consultative Assembly in 1991, 1995, 1999, and 2013, and for the presidency in 2009. Her eligibility was rejected by the Guardian Council on all occasions.

Engineer Jila Movahed Shariat Panahi earned her degree in Physics from Sharif University of Technology in 1973 and then worked for the university "Center for Research and Application of Radioactive Materials". In 1985, she resigned because her report, which argued that solar energy was safer, healthier, cheaper, and more suitable than nuclear energy, was dismissed and because she opposed the mandatory enforcement of wearing the headscarf for female employees. She began extensive research on the legal, civil, and social equality of women and men in Islam. She became a member of the "One Million Signatures Campaign to Eliminate Legal Discrimination Against Women in Iran" and the "National Peace Council."

Dr. Phil. Milena Rampoldi, 1973 in Bozen geboren, studierte in Italien Theologie, Pädagogik, Philosophie und Orientalistik, um dann in Wien zum Thema der arabophonen Korandidaktik im deutschen Sprachraum zu promovieren. Sie arbeitete als Fremdsprachlehrerin . 2014 gründete sich den Verein ProMosaik e.V. für die interkulturelle Kommunikation (www.promosaik.com). Die Themen ihrer Bücher beziehen sich im Beson-deren auf die islamische Religion, Kultur und Geschichte und auf den islamischen Feminismus und die Menschenrechte. Sie verfolgt mit ihren Texten das Ziel des Dialogs zwischen den Religionen und ist der Überzeugung, dass man durch die Annäherung an die Geschichte auch die Gegenwart besser verstehen kann, um eine Zukunft im Sinne der Gerechtigkeit und des Friedens aufbauen zu können.
