The aim of this work was to investigate whether students act positively and consciously in everyday situations relating to personal finances, thus following the line of research focussed on Financial Education. To carry out this research, the students were faced with activities of a direct, reflective and investigative nature, with a bias towards mathematical techniques. The research methodology followed the theoretical assumptions of Didactic Engineering and the theoretical foundations were subsidised by the theory of Didactic Situations, in particular a-didactic situations. The subjects of the research were third year high school students from a state public school in the municipality of São João de Meriti-RJ. As an educational product, a booklet was created that tells the story of everyday situations in a family, entitled The Ten-Measure Family. At the end of each chapter, the reader is asked to solve ten problems that occur in a family's daily life, using their knowledge of Financial Education.
