This book examines the impact of globalisation on school governance, leadership roles, and student outcomes. One of the effects of economic forces of globalisation is that schools and school leaders are compelled to embrace the corporate ethos of the efficiency, accountability, performance, and profit-driven managerialism. The book also investigates evolving changes in school leadership that affect autonomy in schools in designing curricula and managing resources, where the role of the school leader has grown far beyond that of an administrator.
This book offers a scholarly and holistic analysis of how globalisation and dominant models of school leadership influence students' identities, engagement, and academic achievement. Globalisation and educational leadership in schools, as presented in this volume, are perceived to be necessary in education policy reform to eliminate on-going discrimination, racism, and discriminatory practices in educational settings.
