Nata a Francoforte sul Meno nel 1996, Nina Hock ha studiato matematica ed economia per diventare insegnante (M.Ed.) all'Università di Costanza. Durante diversi stage e un anno sociale di volontariato nel settore dell'istruzione, è entrata in contatto con molti insegnanti diversi e ha familiarizzato con la ricerca educativa.
