Dorla, an education professional, delights in writing materials for children and adults to interact together and grow in their knowledge and faith towards Christ Jesus. Broadman & Holman published her six-book series, Celebrate! Teaching Bible Truths Through Arts and Crafts. Splash, an early childhood curriculum was published by Thomas Nelson, to accompany Max Lucado's The Come Thirsty Church Experience. Dorla is married to John Schlitt, the lead singer for the Christian band, PETRA. She authored The PETRA Prayer Warrior Devotional to accompany PETRA's album This Means War! She and John live in Franklin, Tennessee.
