Patients experience extreme situations in hospital and are in a state of consciousness characterised by altered perception and increased suggestibility. As a result, suggestions in the form of words, images and ideas have a greater effect in this situation. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of positive and negative suggestions in the medical environment and to measure it using dynamometry. The aim was to identify positive suggestions and highlight ways of improving communication in hospitals, which is mostly negative. This work was originally written as a dissertation entitled 'Effects of verbal and non-verbal suggestions from the clinical environment on arm muscle strength' in the working group with Prof. Dr E. Hansen and Dr Nina Zech at the University of Regensburg.
