Doug Beisley is an educator, children's author, and songwriter whose stories celebrate imagination, learning, and community. Drawing inspiration from his students at Washington Elementary School in the Salem-Keizer School District, Doug creates picture books that blend rhythm, rhyme, and heart. His stories-such as Elephant's Jungle Tune, Autumn Delight, My Little Pet Sin, and The Wildcat Way-invite young readers into joyful worlds where curiosity and creativity come alive.A lifelong lover of music and storytelling, Doug often weaves songs, poems, and classroom themes into his writing. His books are designed to support early literacy, social-emotional learning, and school spirit-often featuring the Washington Wildcats, the beloved mascot of his school community.Doug earned his Bachelor's degree from Warner Pacific University and a Master's degree from Portland State University. When he isn't writing or teaching, he enjoys composing children's songs, creating classroom resources, and traveling through his company, Beisley Cruise and Travel.Doug lives in Oregon, where he continues to inspire children to read, sing, and dream big.
