This two-part study into discipleship explores what it means to be a disciple, within the context of the Great Commission of Matthew 28. Jesus provided us with the blueprint on how to be a disciple and how to make disciples. It has always been God's intention for us all (as followers of Christ) to be disciples, to do the work of a disciple (in the Spirit of God), and to make disciples. Through discipleship - God's Way - the eternal Kingdom is effectively and purposefully established and multiplied on earth. Jesus said in Matthew 28:18, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." And here's the life-changing part: that authority doesn't stop with Jesus-it flows through every disciple who follows Him! That means you. Yes, you! Luke 10:19: "I have given you authority... and nothing shall hurt you." But here's the key-it works through faith and obedience. Don't wait for feelings. Don't wait for permission. Walk in it today. Speak in His Name. Bind the enemy. Heal the sick. Set captives free. This is your calling as a disciple. This is your inheritance. Authority isn't a suggestion-it's a gift. Use it, not for pride, not for control, but for love, for service, for the glory of Jesus Christ. Rise up, disciple! The Kingdom of God is near. Authority is in your hands. Go forth and let heaven move through you!
