The book contains a study that aimed to investigate and understand the meanings of motherhood for women-mothers who interact in support groups on motherhood issues, and how these mothers respond to the dilemmas and conflicts that plague them, based on contact with ideas about female empowerment in mothers' groups via social media. The research clarifies whether the identity marker of motherhood is really constituted, how it is constructed, and how feminist contributions shape the thoughts of these women, as mothers and as subjects of law in the exercise of their individuality. The data were collected through individual interviews with 15 (fifteen) mothers who participate in maternity support groups in the city of Teresina, Piauí, based on the association of ideas about motherhood and empowerment, as well as participant observation in meetings of mothers' groups, in which they also interact in person.
