"ENDO 4.0" is all about Regenerative Endodontics which is an emerging field within endodontics that focuses on the biologically based procedures designed to replace damaged tooth structures, including dentin and root structures, as well as cells of the pulp-dentin complex. It aims to restore the normal physiology and function of the pulp tissue by harnessing principles of tissue engineering, which include stem cells, growth factors, and scaffolds. Initially developed as an alternative to traditional root canal therapy in immature teeth with necrotic pulps, regenerative endodontic procedures (REPs) offer the potential for continued root development, thickening of dentinal walls, and re-establishment of pulp vitality. Key protocols include disinfecting the root canal system without damaging stem cell niches, stimulating bleeding to create a scaffold, and sealing the coronal access with biocompatible materials. Supported by growing clinical and histological evidence, regenerative endodontics represents a paradigm shift from conventional methods focused solely on removing infection to biologically driven therapies aimed at healing and regeneration. Current research continues to explore advanced biomaterials, cell-based therapies, and molecular techniques to enhance predictability and broaden the application of REPs. This book provides an insight into the paradigm shift from traditional endodontic treatment toward functional tissue regeneration.
