Dr. Antonio Torres Marques is a highly accomplished academic and Emeritus Professor at the University of Porto, Portugal, specializing in Mechanical Engineering. With a career spanning several decades, he earned his Ph.D. in Composite Materials from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK, in 1981. During his tenure at the University of Porto, Dr. Marques served as the head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, making significant contributions to research in Polymeric and Composite Materials, Industrial Design, Biomechanics, and Health and Safety. Despite retiring in 2020, he remains actively engaged in research within the Laboratory for Energy, Transport, and Aeronautics (LAETA). Dr. Marques boasts an extensive portfolio, receiving the Career Prize from the Portuguese Biomechanics Society, and maintaining membership in LAETA, underscoring his enduring impact on the field of Mechanical Engineering
