Lidawan est titulaire d'un doctorat en éducation, d'une maîtrise d'anglais et d'une licence d'anglais de l'université d'État de Pangasinan, de l'université centrale de Baguio et de l'université Lyceum Northwestern, respectivement. Il est originaire de Baguio City, Benguet, Cordillera Administrative Region, République des Philippines. Lidawan enseigne l'anglais depuis près de 26 ans.
