Entrepreneurship and local development are interlinked, since entrepreneurs are seeking to improve not only the quality of products and services, but also the social and environmental well-being of a locality. The aim of this monograph is to investigate the contributions made by the managers of the União Têxtil company, based in the city of Pombal, through entrepreneurship, to making Local Development possible. The methodology adopted consisted of bibliographical research and a field study using a questionnaire. According to the results presented in the survey, the company's manager believes that entrepreneurship is not just about making a profit, but about being committed to social and local development. The company has sought to develop entrepreneurial proposals that also make it possible to generate income for the municipality, through the strategy of cheap, quality products.
