The 2006 episode led to the slaughter of 19,199 birds, with an estimated economic impact of around 20,251,344 CFA. In response, the country adopted a national prevention and response plan. 16 outbreaks of HPAI were recorded in 2022, totalling 98,520 deaths. The aim of this study is to evaluate the disease's epidemiological surveillance system in the Maradi region.

Mahaman Nassirou ILLIA, Gestor Pecuário Sénior, nasceu em Malbaza, no Níger, em 1981. Trabalhou na zona pastoral e foi Chefe do Serviço Regional de Saúde Animal. Obteve um certificado em epidemiologia e laboratório de campo (FELTP) a nível básico em 2021 no Níger e concluiu um mestrado profissional em saúde pública.
