This publication provides the tombstone inscriptions of those buried in Copp's Hill Burial Ground, copied exactly as they were engraved in the stones. The epitaphs give details of birth and death dates, age, and in some cases accomplishments of the deceased. Inscriptions of several influential residents are included, such as Nicholas Upshall, of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery, and Captain Thomas Lake, an early settler, and large proprietor of Maine. A few other significant entries include those of Hutchison, Mountford, Goodrich, Gee, Clark, Lee, and Greenwood, as well as the monument to Major General Joseph Warren. A full-name index is used to conclude this work.
