Her father was an engineer, and her mother was an educator. They equipped Erin with the critical skills she would need when she left civilization to scavenge in the wastelands of the Range. When Erin was young, she scavenged with her father and discovered an advanced piece of technology invented before the wars. It was an apparatus shaped like an orb that could scan entire rooms and see beyond their superficial walls. As Erin searches the Range for rare items to trade, she begins to trust a crafty gang of misfits who become her family. Their adventures lead them to treasures of unimaginable wealth, setting the stage for their next mission: restoring humanity's remnants.

Rory and his spouse allocate their time between North Dakota and Arizona. Rory possesses an inherent talent for creative design and actively engages in hobbies such as woodworking and auto restoration. In addition to his talents as a musician, designer, artist, and author, he has created plush toys of characters from his children's books.
