Assessment plays a central role in any educational process, not only as a means of measuring students' achievements, but also as a means of guiding teachers in adapting their teaching practices. In the Moroccan context, the teaching of geography, as a fundamental discipline, plays a crucial role in understanding spatial, environmental and social dynamics. However, assessment in this discipline remains marked by a number of challenges, whether pedagogical, methodological or institutional, requiring in-depth analysis and concrete proposals for improvement. For more than ten years, as a history and geography teacher under the aegis of the French Ministry of Education, and with a specialist background in educational science (PhD in educational science, specializing in the didactics of social sciences and development), I have witnessed the many issues surrounding assessment in the teaching of geography.
