The German healthcare system is primarily designed to provide acute medical care. Due to a changing disease structure towards a predominance of chronic diseases, the healthcare structures need to be adapted. Alina Rohletter is a trainee in the Controlling department at Helios Verwaltung Hessen GmbH. After graduating from high school and spending time abroad, she studied health economics at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden, during which time she also wrote this book.
