Autorenporträt
Bill Frisco was born and raised in the storied Fishtown section of Philadelphia, PA, and educated in the Catholic Archdiocese schools, first at Holy Name of Jesus and later at North Catholic High School. In the summer of 1985, while on vacation at the Jersey Shore, he encountered a man whose past was as vivid as the most gripping crime novel-a seasoned thief with an astonishing tale to tell. For nearly 40 years, that story stayed with Frisco, a saga of international smugglers, the IRA, Italian mobsters, and ruthless Nazis-all linked by a single stolen painting and the dark history it carried. Now, after decades of contemplation, he brings this unbelievable true story to the page. At its heart, it is a tale of high-stakes robbery and revenge, but also one of unexpected friendship, love, and the enduring echoes of history. With a storyteller's instinct and an eye for the extraordinary, Frisco delivers a narrative that is as thrilling as it is deeply human-one that proves truth is often stranger, and more compelling, than fiction.
