Amy Shepherd, M.Ed., is a parent, educator, and advocate for children who are blind or visually impaired. Her journey began as the mother of a young man who is legally blind and has grown into a mission to make early learning more accessible, engaging, and joyful for all children.Amy currently serves as the Parent Liaison for the Michigan Department of Education's Resources for Blind and Low Vision. She holds a Master's in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University, a Perkins-Roman CVI Range Endorsement, and a graduate certificate in CVI from the University of Massachusetts Boston.Amy is the founder of the CVI Book Nook, where she develops literacy tools rooted in evidence-based practice and meaningful visual access. Her growing catalog with Little Dandelion Press includes Ready for School, Count with Me, Fall Is..., Winter Is..., Spring Is..., Summer Is..., and Five Friendly Ghosts-each created with intention, love, and a deep respect for diverse learners.Her work reflects a commitment to representation, belonging, and accessible early literacy experiences for every child.
