Riches to rags. ... Controlling to chaos. ... But murder ... well maybe ... Doreen's success at solving murders has hit the newswires across the country, but all Doreen wants is to be left alone. Riches to rags. ... Controlling to chaos. ... But murder ... well maybe ... Doreen's success at solving murders has hit the newswires across the country, but all Doreen wants is to be left alone. She has antiques to get to the auction house and a relationship with Corporal Mack Moreau to work out, not to mention a new friendship to nurture with Penny, Doreen's first friend in Kelowna, and Doreen doesn't want to ruin things. But when a surprise accusation won't leave Doreen alone-about Penny's late husband George's death and made by one of the men Doreen helped put away-she thinks that maybe it can't hurt to just take a quick look into her new friend's past. Before Doreen knows it, she's juggling a cold case, a closed case, and a possible mercy killing ... along with cultivating her relationships with Penny, Mack, and Doreen's pets: Mugs, the basset hound; Goliath, the Maine coon cat, and Thaddeus, the far-too-talkative African gray parrot. Hey there. I'm a Canadian USA Today best-selling author, and I love writing for everyone-whether you're young, old, or somewhere in between. My books? Well, they're a mixed bag. Some are steamy, some are sweet, and a few might have you sleeping with the lights on. Others are perfect for snuggling up with.I've never been one to color inside the lines or stick to a single path. I embrace the wild stories that pop into my head, even if they break the rules and dance across genres. A few years ago, I switched to dictating my stories because my fingers were starting to feel the impact of my steady 10,000 words a day. Dictating is linear, so it silences my internal editor. You can't stop to ensure something is perfect or to see what needs changing-you must continue onward. This approach has allowed me to let my muse take the lead and to feel the story pour from my heart. My mind steps in during the editing process, but, until then, it's all about letting the characters direct the story. That's why my stories have that existential feel of a Dale Mayer book. And you know what? That's totally okay with me.One thing's for sure: every book I write promises to be a great read, every single time.
