MARIA AUER SALMON graduated from the Unites States Military Academy - West Point in 2002 and was commissioned as an officer in the Adjutant General Corps. She deployed twice in support of the 1st Armored Division to Iraq and Kuwait, as well as completed rotations to Qatar and Djibouti, in support of multiple Operation Iraqi Freedom campaigns.After five years of service, she backpacked around the world over the next 10 months. Upon returning to the U.S., she moved to Chicago and began a project managing and volunteering for various nonprofits and organizations. In between it all, she studied screenplay and novel writing through the Writer's Guild Foundation, where the idea for this novel was first set in motion. Currently, she is an ESL high school teacher.Maria lives and works outside of Chicago with her husband and two daughters. She is starting a website for collaboration and support of all Military Sexual Trauma survivors at www.mariaauersalmon.com Maria would like to remind all MST survivors that they matter and that recovery is possible.
